Are you getting proper exercise? Exercise is without a doubt one of the most pivotal aspects of a healthy lifestyle. It improves so many factors of our lives including heart health, organ function, increased energy levels, and mental focus. So it is no surprise at all to see the beneficial effect that exercise has on our sleep. Are you getting proper exercise? We will discuss here how to harness this great benefit to get a better night’s sleep.
How it works? Numerous studies have shown that a consistent workout routine will dramatically decrease anxiety and depression, which are the two most common factors that contribute to insomnia. Plus burning that excess energy and fatiguing your muscles through an intense plan will make you body crave that beauty rest for recovery.
What type of workout works the best? Should you pick a cardio plan that would give you a dramatic spike in your heart rate? What about a resistance routine to build muscle and help your experience body fatigue? What about a combination of both? I find that a detailed plan that balances cardio and strength training works great to gain the best benefits of both worlds. Here is a great 7-Minute Workout.
When is the best time to workout? With our busy modern lifestyles, it is a struggle to find time to fit in a good workout. The most important goal is to fit in a strong calorie burner when it works best for you. Most experts will tell you that late afternoon or early evening would work the best, and I do agree with this argument, but i advise not to skip out just because you can’t fit it in during this time. The best advise is to avoid a workout right before bedtime, because it will be difficult to fall right to sleep with an elevated heart rate.
If you just cannot fit a gym visit into you busy life, try an effective “at-home” routine.
